People To People Canada 17th Annual Fundraising Dinner for Ethiopian Orphans feat. The Jay Danley Ba
It always makes me very happy when I can use my skills as a musician to do other work that I think has some social value. I am very happy to say that The Jay Danley Band will be playing at the People To People Canada 17th Annual Fundraising Dinner. This is a tax deductible charity event that is being held to help Ethiopian orphans who have lost their parents to AIDS.
Here is a short blurb about the event.
" In Ethiopia, there are over a million children orphaned by HIV/AIDS. Many of these children have to contend with the loss of their parents and the responsibility of caring for younger siblings. That was why P2P identified the orphans issue as one of the areas where it could make contributions. "

The event is to be held at Daniels Spectrum (585 Dundas St E, Toronto, ON M5A 2B7) at 6 p.m. on December 10, 2016 (which also happens to be my birthday!)
This is certainly a worthwhile event put on by an organization with a great reputation.
The Jay Danley Band will be playing classic Ethio-jazz and original compositions in the style.
